About Citadel AI

Citadel AI Shibuya-ku, Tokyo

Citadel AI builds products to test and monitor high-risk AI systems. Our mission is to make the world's AI systems more reliable and trustworthy.

Key benefits

  • International team and global customers
  • World-class engineering team
  • Significant ownership and impact

About the position

As Citadel AI’s first solutions engineer, you’ll work closely with the founders to help our customers evaluate, integrate, and fully utilize our products into their AI use cases. We’re a small and fast-paced team, so you’ll be at the center of a tight loop between engineering, sales, and our users.

You’ll primarily work with our existing and prospective customers in Japan, but depending on your background, may engage with our global customers as well. You’ll enable our customers to effectively use our products to develop AI systems safely across a variety of industries including healthcare, finance, automotive, public safety, technology, and more. Within the team, you’ll ensure that customer needs are integrated into our product roadmap and supported by the engineering team.

As an early employee, you’ll own a significant equity stake in addition to your base salary.

Requirements

Our company, technology, and market are new and changing rapidly, so a large part of the job is to adapt and learn new things. We value learning fast over pre-existing knowledge (“slope is more important than y-intercept”).

This role focuses on the Japan market, so you should be fluent in Japanese, proficient in business-level English, and have strong communication skills in general.

You should have 2+ years of experience working in a customer-facing technical role for a technical software product. We prioritize candidates in Tokyo, but may consider remote for exceptional candidates.

Nice to haves

While not specifically required, tell us if you have any of the following.

  • You have a background in software engineering and AI/ML to deeply understand the use cases, challenges, and capabilities of our customers and products.
  • You’ve worked at an early stage startup before.
