About the position

Enhance our web services, adding new features. We use a combination of Golang, React, Laravel (PHP), Azure, and AWS.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers to deliver high-quality frontend components and backend services
  • Participate in and contribute to the planning processes to design products that fit within business and technical constraints
  • Respond quickly and independently to the rapidly changing needs of users
  • Develop and optimize both backend and frontend service and infrastructure

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in mid- to large-scale service development and operations including infrastructure
  • 3+ years system architecture design experience
  • 3+ years server side development experience (C++, PHP, Ruby, Java, Python, Go, etc.)
  • 3+ years database design and operation experience (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL)
  • Development and operation experience in a cloud or virtual environment
  • Able to work on site at our Tokyo office 2-3 times per week
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field

Nice to haves

While not specifically required, tell us if you have any of the following.

  • Experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction
  • Experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, and/or cross-business projects

Compensation

5.2 to 8 million JPY annually.

Hiring Process

  1. 1

    Resume Screening & Coding Test

    Candidates who meet the requirements will be sent a coding test. The test can be completed in a language of your choice, and is designed to assess your knowledge of algorithms and data strucutre.

    Coding Session

    A one-hour coding interview where we evaluate your programming skills and your ability to collaborate as a team member.

  3. 3

    Interview with an Engineer

    A one-hour interview to discuss the content of your resume. We aim to understand the breadth of your knowledge and how deeply you comprehend your own development experience.

  4. 4

    Interview with the CEO, CTO, and HR

    A one-hour interview to determine if you’re a good fit for the company. This is also a chance to meet with top management, so feel free to ask any questions you might have.
