About the position

As we scale, we’re looking for a Senior UI/UX Design Lead to become the core foundation of our design team. If you are a self-sufficient, hands-on leader who thrives in platform design, branding, and crafting seamless user experiences, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design process for Katix’s web and mobile platforms, ensuring an intuitive and cohesive experience across products
  • Establish and evolve the design system, setting a strong foundation for scalable, consistent UI/UX practices
  • Own branding and visual identity across all Katix products, aligning them with business goals and customer expectations
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and data-driven design improvements to enhance platform engagement
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to bring concepts to life
  • Mentor and guide future design hires, fostering a culture of design excellence

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with a strong focus on web-based platform design
  • Proven track record of delivering user-centric designs in a fast-paced startup or tech environment
  • Deep expertise in branding and visual design, with experience creating design systems
  • 100% self-sufficient: You take ownership, solve problems proactively, and thrive with minimal guidance.
  • Strong proficiency in Figma (or similar tools) and knowledge of front-end development constraints
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions clearly
  • JLPT N1 or above.

Nice to haves

While not specifically required, tell us if you have any of the following.

  • Management or leadership experience.
  • Branding experience.
  • Experience conducting user interviews.
  • UI/UX research experience.

Compensation

6 to 9 million JPY annually.
