Responsibilities
- Potential Succession: Work closely with existing senior engineering leaders, gradually stepping into their roles and continuing their impactful work. Contribute to succession planning efforts by identifying and nurturing talent within the organization.
- Strategic Contribution: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to drive the company’s growth and take it to the next level. Implement innovative strategies for improved business outcomes and increased market presence.
- Team Leadership: Lead and inspire large-scale teams of engineers, facilitating a collaborative environment that fosters excellence and high performance. Mentor and develop engineering leaders to support their professional growth and continued success.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement, both within engineering and across the wider organization. Drive initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality through the implementation of industry-recognized best practices.
Requirements
- Shared understanding and belief in our company’s mission and values
- Proven experience in senior leadership positions, successfully managing and leading teams of engineers. Previous experience with scaling tech companies and managing other senior leaders is highly desirable.
- Industry Expertise: Experience working on large-scale products ideally B2C or C2C platforms. Knowledge of modern web technologies is essential.
- Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to contribute to new business ventures, drive strategic initiatives, and deliver impactful results. Experience with global companies and operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is preferred.
- Language Skills: You are Proficient (CEFR - C1) in English and Japanese and have the ability to communicate and understand nuances and actively participate in meetings in both languages.
- Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor individuals at all levels. A track record of driving high performance and a commitment to developing talent. Experience managing managers
