About WAY Equity Partners

WAY is a company builder on a mission to team up with exceptional founders and experts to create best-in-class software companies that solve our customer’s toughest problems. We act like a co-founder, providing our companies with expertise, money, and resources.

Key benefits

  • Build a startup without the personal risk

About the position

We are in search of an entrepreneurial CTO to join our founding team that is reshaping the landscape of startup financing. Our fintech platform empowers startups and growth-stage companies to efficiently access, manage, and leverage funds for sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

  • Translate user feedback into tangible, responsive changes in the product. You are obsessed with your customers and have a keen understanding of what they want. You are able to deconstruct their feedback into product iterations, moving ever closer to the product users need.
  • Understand deeply the requisite fidelity of a product at each stage of its development. You are keenly attuned to the importance of gathering user feedback en masse in a product’s early stages, and able to continually iterate and ship MVP versions to gather critical user data.
  • Design the technical architecture of the product. You can build a product from scratch and own it through every phase of development and feedback. You know how to make it work well and look good.
  • Coordinate product development with business. You have a deep understanding of how the product interacts with business goals, and are able to create a long-term vision and roadmap that marries the two.
  • Manage interdisciplinary teams to execute well. You understand the complexities of how front-end design interacts with back-end development, and can effectively manage the relationship between teams of designers and developers.

Requirements

  • Managed and led engineering teams in startups or fast-growing tech firms.
  • Experience in a fintech or similar industry
  • Built product, guided its strategy, and grew it to scale and serve a wide audience
  • Built and led high-performing engineering team(s) with a strong, collaborative team culture.
  • Decisive and agile; you have strong ideas, but you’re not too proud to change the product based on evidence and feedback
  • Conversational Japanese skills
