About Emotion Intelligence

Emotion Intelligence is a Tokyo-based startup who's main product is ZenClerk, which presents discount offers to e-commerce site visitors at the most appropriate timing: when the visitor is hesitating. They do this by analyzing browser behaviour data (mouse-moving, scrolling, clicks, gestures) in real-time. As their engineering team is already 75% non-Japanese, no Japanese skills are required, and they are open to considering candidates looking to relocate to Japan.

At Emotion Intelligence, you'll tackle the huge challenges involved in analyzing, machine-learning, and visualizing online traffic of more than 1 billion page views per month. You'll be part of an organization that currently uses technologies like AWS, Vue.js, Node.js and MongoDB, but is also very open-minded to adopt new technologies. You'll have flexible working hours and be able to work remotely a couple times per week.

About the position

As a Server Side Engineer, you'll architect, develop, and deploy new features. Though their infrastructure is quite stable, at times you'll also be called upon to improve the reliability and performance of their service. For example, you might build a monitoring and logging solution for their clusters and services.
