About the position

Your job.

At Indeed, we focus on creating innovative systems to help match job seekers and employers. We believe that job search is not just about skill matching. A Job seeker might want to change their industry or position, or they might look for new challenges overseas. That’s why we try so hard to understand the job seeker’s job search intent and interests from various data, not only their experience and skills.

The metadata team helps Indeed understand jobs and jobseekers. This typically means utilizing NLP techniques to identify, extract, and classify meaningful structured information from job descriptions and resumes. The team also organizes the information and makes it useful for every team at Indeed.

As a software engineering manager in search quality, metadata, you will provide hands-on leadership for a development team of 4-5 engineers and work closely with product managers (PM) and domain experts in Tokyo and in Austin,TX to create and prioritize the product roadmap. You will also help to refine and enhance the business strategy.

About you.

You are someone who is passionate about coding, loves intellectual challenges, is eager to learn, and want to work with a variety of technologies to solve interesting problems. Communication is a key and we are looking for someone who appreciate working with both technical and non-technical colleagues across different teams, roles, and backgrounds, including colleagues in different countries with varied opinions for better solutions.

Compensation

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include quarterly bonuses, Long Term Incentive Plan units, an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.

Tokyo Base Salary Range: 14,000,000 - 18,000,000 JPY per year
