About the position

Our AI-native platform, “Skill.com,” transforms traditional recruiting workflows into an integrated operating system.We are expanding this capability into Japan. As Lead Product Manager, you will drive the product strategy, localization, and operational adoption of our AI platform for the Japanese market.

Adapting global AI models to Japan involves unique challenges, including unstructured Japanese CV formats, localized compensation structures, and complex industry taxonomies.

Your mission is to translate these local market needs into clear product specifications, bridging manual recruitment workflows with automated AI precision.

Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Localization: Translate local market needs, Japanese business customs, and user feedback into actionable product requirements and specifications.
  • Roadmap & Backlog Management: Define and prioritize the Japan product roadmap, user stories, and feature backlog in alignment with local business goals.
  • Bridge & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary bridge between US-based global product/engineering teams and Japanese business leadership.
  • Operational Adoption & Enablement: Drive AI tool adoption among internal recruiting teams (approx. 20 agents) through user documentation, enablement strategies, and training.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of PdM, Technical PM, or Product Owner experience with B2B SaaS or AI/digital platforms.
  • Deep domain understanding of Japanese business customs, enterprise workflows, and HR/recruiting expectations.
  • Strong technical acumen to converse fluently with software engineers and evaluate technical feasibility.
  • Proven track record of gathering requirements directly from users or enterprise stakeholders.
  • Japanese: Business/Native (JLPT N1 equivalent) for local negotiations and specification drafting.
  • English: Business-level for technical and roadmap alignment with US teams.

Nice to haves

While not specifically required, tell us if you have any of the following.

  • Technical background as a former Software Engineer, Data Scientist, or Solutions Architect.
  • Experience in Staffing, HR Tech, Search/Matching Algorithms, or B2B SaaS localization.
  • Experience working across multicultural (Japan–US) engineering environments.

Compensation

¥8,000,000 ~ ¥15,000,000 annually.

    2–3 Interview Rounds (Conducted in Japanese and English)

    Includes discussions with our Japan Country Manager and technical conversations with our US Global Product Engineering Team.
