About Metanomaly

Metanomaly is behind PixAI, a character generation engine that enables users to generate virtual characters and avatars using generative AI.

About the position

  • Development style
  • Small team (Growth Team), short path from idea to production
  • You work directly with designers, PMs, and analysts, without a ticket queue in between
  • Decisions get settled by shipping and measuring rather than by debate
  • A senior growth engineer on the team to review your work and learn from
  • Team communication is in English
  • On-site / Remote hybrid.

Responsibilities

  • Build and own features across the stack, from database and API through to the interface users touch
  • Design and implement the API endpoints new product surfaces depend on
  • Implement frontend work coming from design, from small UI corrections through to full components and flows
  • Ship experiments and instrumentation on activation, conversion, and engagement flows, and iterate on what the data says
  • Work on generative AI product surfaces: prompt flows, generation pipelines, the places where model behavior meets UX

Tech stack

  • Frontend: React + TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
  • Backend: Node.js + TypeScript, GraphQL, RPC, PostgreSQL
  • Infrastructure: AWS, Docker
  • Experimentation / Analytics: Amplitude, Snowflake

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years building and maintaining products used by real users
  • Shipped both frontend features and backend services or APIs in production
  • Able to design and implement well-structured API endpoints
  • Strong enough on the frontend to implement a design faithfully and catch quality issues before users do
  • Comfortable clarifying underspecified work yourself instead of waiting for a spec
  • Honest estimation, and early flagging when something is blocked or bigger than it looked
  • Basic SQL, enough to check that what you shipped did what you expected
  • Professional experience with B2C / consumer-facing products
  • English at business level

Nice to haves

While not specifically required, tell us if you have any of the following.

  • Hands-on experience running A/B tests or similar product experiments
  • Experience working closely with designers to implement UI
  • Experience with growth work, product iteration, or independent app development
  • Interest in anime, otaku culture, or creator communities
  • Interest in AI generation
