Responsibilities
- Own major surfaces of a consumer app used by millions, driving them from idea to release and beyond
- Translate product hypotheses into polished, performant Android experiences in Kotlin / Jetpack Compose, and set the quality bar for the team
- Lead UI logic shared across platforms via Kotlin Multiplatform (KMM), collaborating closely with iOS and Web frontend
- Define how features are instrumented, run A/B experiments, and turn data into decisions on activation, retention, and engagement
- Own user feedback and long term product success for your area, including the key metrics that define it
- Mentor Android engineers and raise the team’s overall engineering and product judgment
Requirements
- Deep Android engineering skills with a track record of high-impact, user-facing features owned end to end
- Strong in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose; confident with coroutines and scalable app architecture
- Real product sense: you have opinions about UX and can tell good from “technically done”
- User sympathy - you instinctively notice friction, jank, and confusing flows, and you advocate for the user in every tradeoff
- Data-driven: you frame hypotheses, define metrics, and let dashboards and experiments guide iteration
- Clear communicator who can align engineers, design, and leadership, and make tradeoffs explicit
- Bias toward shipping and learning, while keeping reliability and UX from decaying under growth
- 5–8+ years building and iterating on mobile products used by real users
- Experience of leading a small team (2–5 engineers) and/or driving a cross-functional team toward a product goal
- Experience as a product owner and/or owning key product metrics, not just shipping assigned tickets
- Proven track record shipping Android features and improving them based on feedback or metrics
- Professional experience with B2C / consumer-facing products, presumably in gaming, social, etc. realm
- Hands-on experience with A/B testing or product experimentation
- Bachelor’s degree or above. Shipped work, judgment, and product taste matter more than credentials.
- An interest in anime. When applying, please include the names of your top 5 favorite niche anime at the end of your message.
