Join a fast-growing SaaS product team as a Bilingual Engineering Manager, helping scale the engineering organization. You’ll be focused on people leadership, improving team performance and growth, recruiting, resource allocation, and organizational systems like OKRs. This is not a hands-on coding role, but you must have strong technical judgment across reliability, security, scalability, and cost to support decision-making
Responsibilities
- Engineering Team Leadership
- Manage and support engineering teams of 20–30 members including tech leads
- Improve team health, engagement, and workload balance
- Conduct regular one-on-ones and support career growth
- Lead performance evaluations and promotion processes
- Foster transparent collaboration across Japanese and English teams
- Hiring and Recruiting
- Define role requirements and candidate profiles
- Improve recruiting processes and interview quality
- Enhance candidate experience and support offer negotiations
- Build scalable and predictable hiring systems
- Resource and Budget Management
- Allocate headcount, time, and budget effectively
- Manage vendors and external partners
- Evaluate tools to improve engineering productivity, including AI tools
- Organizational Execution and OKRs
- Lead engineering OKR planning and alignment with company strategy
- Improve cross-team execution and dependency management
- Identify bottlenecks and drive process improvements
- Technical Leadership Support
- Support roadmap decisions and technical trade-offs
- Prioritize technical debt based on business impact
- Promote quality and reliability improvements through data and postmortems
Requirements
- Business-level Japanese and English
- 5+ years of engineering management experience
- 3+ years of recruiting experience
- 5+ years of web service development experience
- Proven track record improving team performance
- Strong decision-making skills in ambiguous environments

¥9,000,000 ~ ¥13,000,000 annually.
