About the position

We are looking to hire our second QA engineer. This is an opportunity to influence not only how we test our products, but how the entire development team thinks about quality.

Responsibilities

  • QA strategy and planning
    • Define quality plans for products and individual features
    • Identify risks and develop appropriate testing strategies
    • Define and maintain quality metrics and guidelines across the product
  • Testing
    • Design and execute tests for our web applications
    • Create and maintain test cases
    • Conduct regression testing
  • Test automation and quality improvement
    • Design and implement E2E and automated tests
    • Improve quality through CI/CD
    • Build more efficient testing workflows using AI
    • Analyze defects and help prevent similar issues from recurring
  • Development process improvement
    • Review requirements and designs from a quality perspective
    • Provide feedback early in the development process
    • Help build a strong quality culture across the engineering team
    • Identify and drive improvements to our development process

Requirements

  • Experience working in QA for B2B web applications
  • Experience defining quality standards and managing product quality
  • Experience implementing and maintaining automated tests
  • Experience analyzing defects and driving quality improvements
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • If Japanese is not your native language, you should have experience working at a Japanese company and be able to communicate in Japanese with the level of politeness, clarity, and logical expression expected in a professional business environment

Nice to haves

While not specifically required, tell us if you have any of the following.

  • Experience with test automation using Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools
  • Experience developing web or mobile applications
  • Experience working in QA within an Agile development environment
  • Experience using AI for test design or test automation

Compensation

¥8,400,000 ~ ¥10,800,000 annually.

Hiring Process

    Resume Screening

  2. 2

    First Interview

    With the head of the engineering team.

  3. 3

    Second Round

    A coding test (take-home assignment; not a live coding test) followed by a technical interview with the engineering team.

  4. 4

    Third Interview

    With the product/business team.

  5. 5

    Reference Interviews (2 people)

    We will conduct two online reference interviews, each lasting approximately 45–60 minutes. This can be done in Japanese, English, or Chinese.

  6. 6

    Final Interview

    In-person interview at our office with CEO Hasejima.
