RESTAR is a Japanese startup providing a B2B information analysis/management platform for the real estate industry.

We are building the REMETIS platform, making it easier for real estate companies and financial institutions to access and understand data. We integrate publicly available information and client data to lower real estate transaction costs and simplify complex investment workflows.

Although we have proven a market need and obtained product-market-fit, we still believe we are in the beginning stages of building the REMETIS platform. We have many ideas for the future expansion of the platform.

We flexibly switch between English and Japanese

Basically all members understand both languages, but some prefer to speak in English and some prefer Japanese. Depending on who you talk with or what we talk about, we flexibly change languages.

We practice continuous improvement and learning

Our team is focused on technical excellence, and continually improving our technical ability. Our engineers support each other through discussions and code reviews, and collaborate to constantly refine our software engineering standards and guidelines.

Rather than proficiency with specific technologies, we look for people who are motivated to learn and possess broad engineering knowledge. For instance, our backend is built in Elixir, a language we think offers excellent productivity, reliability, simplicity, and performance without trade-offs, but we don’t expect candidates to have prior experience with it or functional programming more generally.

We practice continuous learning, be it about the domain of the real estate industry, or more technical things, like learning new technologies as the need arises.

Our tech stack is not set in stone and we are open to discussing changes based on our needs as a team, and we are currently migrating our legacy VueJS 2.7 application to VueJS 3.

Remote Work
  • It is possible to work fully remotely from anywhere in Japan.
  • We have a gorgeous shared office space near Shinagawa station that you’re welcome to work out of.
Holidays
  • Saturdays, Sundays, and National holidays including Golden Week and New Year
  • 20 days paid leave, granted in 5 day increments, on January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, and October 1st every year.
Working Hours
  • You are considered to have worked 8 hours per day under the Discretionary Working System
  • The standard workday is 10:00 to 19:00 JST, but is left to the discretion of the Employee.
Relocation Support
  • We provide relocation support and visa sponsorship if you are not already here.
