About the position

As a Rails Engineer for our product, “Spacely,” you will be responsible for back-end development supporting the spatial data platform for the real estate and housing industries. Your focus will be on developing features used daily by real estate and housing industry customers.

Main features you will be involved with:

  • 360-degree image and video content management
  • Property data management
  • AI-powered virtual furniture placement
  • AI-powered room size estimation
  • Marketing support such as access analysis and customer tracking, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Design, development, and operation of APIs and web applications using Ruby on Rails (development in 2-week sprints)
  • Building a back-end infrastructure that can safely and scalably utilize property/housing content and data
  • Planning and implementation of new features using generative AI
  • Proposing improvements to the development environment, application architecture, and performance tuning

Requirements

  • Experience in web development (3+ years preferred)
  • Experience developing with Ruby on Rails
  • Knowledge of AWS
  • Experience in software development utilizing AI-assisted coding tools
  • Experience with RDBMS (MySQL or PostgreSQL)
  • Experience writing test code using RSpec

Nice to haves

While not specifically required, tell us if you have any of the following.

  • Experience with Specification-Driven Development (SDD) practices
  • Development experience with Vue.js or React.js
  • Experience managing development teams of several members
  • Knowledge of MySQL tuning and query optimization
  • Understanding of search engines (e.g., ElasticSearch or Algolia)
  • Experience writing API documentation using OpenAPI
  • Experience with Agile or Scrum development methodologies
  • Experience developing APIs for mobile applications
  • Experience in designing architecture and launching and operating services

Compensation

¥7,000,000 ~ ¥10,000,000 annually.
