About AI Robot Association

AI Robot Association Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo

AI Robot Association (AIRoA) is a non-profit advancing AI-powered robotics through open datasets, foundation models, and collaborative platforms. While Japan has strong robotics roots, embracing global talent and perspectives is essential for competing and accelerating progress in humanoid robotics.

About the position

AIRoA is launching multiple cross-industry projects centered on building a robot data ecosystem and developing foundation models for robots. As we move forward, the role of business professionals who connect technology with society—through planning and managing joint projects with member companies, designing business schemes for real-world implementation, and driving community building and external outreach—will become even more critical. To support this, we have created a new dedicated position to lead business-side hiring and build a robust recruitment foundation that underpins AIRoA’s future growth.

In the short term, you will clarify hiring needs for business roles and improve both consistency and speed in recruitment by standardizing role definitions, hiring KPIs, and selection processes.Beyond that, you will design a talent portfolio aligned with the roadmap for our robot foundation models and data ecosystem, and build a talent community by leveraging our networks with member companies, research institutions, and startups. We expect you to help establish AIRoA’s brand positioning—so that when people think about taking on challenges in “Robot × AI business,” they think of AIRoA—through both recruitment and external communications. In the longer term, your scope will expand to include talent management and organizational development for business roles as a whole.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in mid-career recruitment (in-house at a business company, startup, etc.)
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience recruiting for business roles (e.g., sales, business development, planning, corporate functions)
  • End-to-end recruitment experience from defining hiring requirements and selecting channels to coordinating the selection process and closing offers
  • Experience developing hiring plans and defining roles/positions in close collaboration with department heads and hiring managers

  • Experience in recruitment at tech, SaaS, or AI/robotics-related companies
  • Experience building hiring systems or improving recruitment processes in an early-stage/launch-phase environment
