Flywheel develops Conata, a data platform that transforms siloed and unstructured enterprise data into AI-ready information, helping organizations put AI into production. Founded in 2018 and based in Tokyo, we’re a team of around 120 people, with non-Japanese engineers making up about 20% of our engineering organization. Since joining the KDDI Group in 2023, we’ve combined the backing of a large enterprise with the speed and autonomy of a startup.
Conata, our data platform
Conata brings together data from across an organization and makes it accessible to AI while protecting personal information and privacy. It includes Conata Data Agent, an AI assistant that uses natural language and generative AI to help employees find answers and insights from company data without needing technical expertise. We work closely with customers to build solutions for real business problems, then incorporate what we learn back into the product.
Backed by KDDI, building like a startup
As part of the KDDI Group, we have the stability and reach of a large enterprise while maintaining the pace and culture of a startup. We also work with partners including Mizuho Bank and CyberAgent on AI-powered data initiatives that are used by organizations across Japan.
