About the position

As a Data Architect, you will be at the forefront of shaping our data infrastructure while also driving AI and machine learning initiatives within our engineering team. Your expertise will be pivotal in enabling agile development, seamless integration of DevOps practices, and innovative AI solutions. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure efficient data management, security, scalability, and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Designing Data Infrastructure and AI Pipelines:
    • Create and maintain data architecture, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
    • Envision, build, deploy, and operationalize end-to-end machine learning (ML) and AI pipelines.
    • Collaborate with data scientists and other AI professionals to identify and pilot AI use cases.
    • Translate business leaders’ vision into realistic technical implementations, considering feasibility and architectural design.
  • Agile and DevOps Integration for AI:
    • Align technical implementation with existing and future requirements by gathering inputs from multiple stakeholders.
    • Select appropriate technologies from a pool of open-source and commercial offerings.
    • Ensure seamless integration of AI tools with existing data management and analytics systems.
    • Audit AI practices across data, models, and software engineering for continuous improvement.
  • Data Governance, Security, and Ethical AI:
    • Audit databases regularly to maintain data quality and security.
    • Work closely with security and risk leaders to address risks related to AI model training and deployment.
    • Ensure ethical AI implementation and restore trust in AI systems.
    • Scalability, Performance, and Innovation:
    • Optimize data storage and retrieval processes for performance and scalability. Identify areas for improvement in current systems.
    • Stay abreast of AI advancements and propose innovative solutions.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
    • Collaborate effectively within the information technology department.
    • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning.

In addition, the role is expected to support pre-sales through working with client leadership and client management team.

Requirements

  • 7+ years professional experience
  • Proven experience as a Data Architect or similar role.
  • Proficiency in database design and data transformation, ETL/ELT.
  • Hands on experience in database applications, big data solutions such as SQL Server, Big Query, Apache Spark, Hadoop etc.
  • Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and tools.
  • Conversational Japanese ability
  • Either a current resident of Japan, or the ability to become one without us providing visa sponsorship
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively in a cross-functional team
