Foundation is a platform team within MeetsMore responsible for improving developer experience, software quality, tooling, and delivery speed at MeetsMore.
This means that we are responsible for many things, including:
- Developer tooling.
- Building core platforms that power critical functions (e.g. search, identity)
- Refactoring existing critical code for performance and maintainability.
- Analyzing performance.
- Socio-technical problems like improving developer culture by leading through example and developing tooling to solve problems.
We are primarily a team that exists to support developers, find our own work, and make things better in the background.
It’s a dynamic role where you will have the opportunity to do many different things across the company, and requires understanding of a lot of different areas.
A good description of the role is that it is similar to an SRE/Devops position, with more focus on coding rather than operations.
However, it is not an SRE position, and we have a separate SRE team who we collaborate with closely.
You should have full-stack application development experience, it is a development role rather than an infrastructure one.
You have a lot of freedom to make things better, but are expected to take initiative to find places to apply this freedom and improve things at an organization-wide level without being told explicitly what to do.

Requirements
- You have experience designing and building production-grade distributed systems from the ground up. This involves writing custom application code to integrate cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS), observability and monitoring platforms (e.g., Datadog), and other distributed systems.
- Either be conversational Japanese, or a desire to do so (we will help).
- Be located in, or be willing to relocate to Japan (we will re-locate). Please be sure to note in your application if you’re already based in Japan or not.
How we use AI in development
We are bullish on AI as a development tool, and provide unlimited free usage of AI tools like Claude Code for our engineers
We have an internal AI task force responsible for policy, guidelines, oversight, and technology in order to empower our engineers to use AI safely and efficiently.
Foundation team work is often at the forefront of AI at MeetsMore, and you should be AI positive (and skeptical in the right places ;) ).
Requirements

- This is a team lead position, and you will need to have proven team lead skills.
- Experience managing a team of 4 or more engineers.
- Soft skills, growth, support, mentoring, 1:1 management of team members.
- Experience with year-long planning, roadmaps, etc.
- Ability to set and deliver against KPIs.
Nice to haves

Compensation
¥8,000,000 ~ ¥14,000,000 annually.
