About the position

Money Forward is entering a new era of growth. As we scale our HR domain, which includes mission-critical products like Money Forward Cloud Payroll, Human Resources Management, and Money Forward Cloud My Number, the complexity of aligning product requirements with ever-changing Japanese labor laws and regulations has increased exponentially.

Since then, we have expanded our product lineup and now offer eight products in the HR domain.

The HR domain holds immense potential for market share expansion and is identified as a key area to accelerate business growth. As our user base expands globally, improving product quality through systemic execution is an urgent priority.

We are seeking a hands-on AI Agents Ops Engineer - Quality Improvement to drive product excellence through technical execution, deep domain analysis, and advanced AI implementation. This role is focused on improving quality across the SDLC by auditing development processes and integrating AI agents to automate complex quality workflows and ensure high-integrity releases.

The Mission:

  • AI-Driven Workflow Automation: Leverage cutting-edge AI technologies (LLMs, AgentOps) to automate, test, and enhance our quality frameworks, removing manual dependencies across the engineering lifecycle.
  • Full-Lifecycle AI Integration & Auditing: Integrate AI agents into the overall development cycle (including the upstream Discovery Phase) to proactively identify systemic quality gaps, analyze requirements against regulatory standards, and audit architectural risks before coding begins.
  • Global Quality Championing: Act as a key technical driver across our cross-functional, global development hubs (Japan, Vietnam, India). Partner directly with engineers and product managers to embed quality-first telemetry, advanced observability, and high-risk validation frameworks into the standard development loop.

Current Issues & Strategic Pivot

The Strategic Goal
Money Forward’s FY28 goal is to achieve sales of over 100 billion yen. To reach this milestone, our HR Product Development Department must maintain an aggressive release cadence while navigating the extreme complexity of Japanese labor laws and global organizational expansion.

The Complexity Wall
Currently, traditional QA efforts rely heavily on manual verification. With 8+ integrated products and a distributed engineering team, we have hit a technical scalability wall:

  • Regulatory Bottlenecks: Manually cross-checking product requirements against evolving HR regulations causes delivery lead-time inflation.
  • Discovery Phase Gaps: Without automated, AI-assisted validation in upstream discovery, hidden structural and logical risks surface too late, resulting in costly re-engineering.
  • Headcount Scaling Limits: Linearly adding more testing headcount is unsustainable. True velocity requires automated self-scaling quality infrastructure.

The Solution: We are shifting from standard domain-dependent manual validation to an AI-Augmented Quality Strategy. We need a technical specialist who can build and deploy multi-agent AI workflows that serve as our automated “regulatory brain,” “discovery-phase auditor,” and “production reliability guardrail.”

Technology Stack

  • Backend: Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, gRPC, Sidekiq Pro, RSpec, Kotlin
  • Frontend: TypeScript, Next.js, Vue.js, Nuxt.js, Bootstrap-vue, Vue apollo, Jest
  • Infrastructure / IaC: Amazon EKS, Aurora, ElastiCache, S3, Terraform
  • Test Automation Stack: Playwright with TypeScript

Responsibilities

  • In this role, you will be the key driver in elevating product quality by performing deep domain analyses, identifying patterns in historical release issues, and architecting actionable plans to prevent recurrence.
  • Leverage cutting-edge AI technologies to automate, test, and enhance our quality frameworks, ensuring high-integrity releases.
  • Audit the end-to-end SDLC, proactively identifying systemic quality gaps and architectural risks.
  • Architect and implement AI-driven automation strategies and AI-augmented debugging workflows.
  • Monitor production quality through advanced observability, logs, and metrics to continuously refine our quality loop.
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering and product teams to integrate quality-first thinking into the development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Expertise in AI implementation (LLMs, Agent Ops) for engineering productivity.
  • Proven track record in technical auditing and domain-specific quality analysis.
  • Deep proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), and test automation.
  • Ability to translate complex technical data into strategic, actionable roadmaps.
  • Strong influence skills to champion quality standards across engineering teams.
  • English : Business-level (TOEIC 800+ equivalent).
  • Japanese : Business-level

Nice to haves

While not specifically required, tell us if you have any of the following.

  • Experience in people management or formal team leadership.
  • Background in mentoring engineers and fostering technical growth within a team.
  • Experience with HR or back-office systems.
  • Experience in AI development and/or experience in using AI tools to improve development processes.
    • Money Forward is at a major turning point, shifting “from Cloud to AI.” We are currently driving “AX (AI Transformation)”—the next step beyond DX—with the goal of providing “Digital Workers,” where AI agents autonomously execute tasks. As we enter a phase of evolving into Japan’s No. 1 back-office AI company by integrating AI agents into all of our products in the future, we are looking for individuals who can contribute to AI-driven development and value creation.

Compensation

¥8,004,000 ~ ¥13,008,000 annually.
