About the position

In product development, the frontend domain covers a wide range of areas close to the user, such as appearance, performance, and accessibility, and there are many challenges in the products currently under development. Additionally, technical debt and legacy development environments are also becoming issues.

We are working daily to solve these challenges and enhance value for users. New product development is also gradually progressing, and the team is becoming capable of development in a modern environment. We are looking for engineers who can focus on enhancing user value in the frontend domain at the Fukuoka base.

UI Turn Support Campaign Ongoing

Money Forward is currently running a campaign to support relocation to our Fukuoka development base! We are offering 500,000 yen to assist with relocation expenses to engineers who join us mid-career and are currently living in Japan (conditions apply).

Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer, you will take a technical lead role in the design and development of frontend architectures for our business-oriented cloud services “Money Forward Cloud Expenses” and “Money Forward Cloud Accounts Payable.”

  • Frontend Design & Implementation: Component design for large-scale, complex business logic using React/Next.js.
  • System Modernization: Migrating to and reconstructing modern frontend architectures with the goal of moving away from monolithic configurations.
  • Quality Improvement & Leadership: Raising the overall technical standards of the team through code reviews and technology selection.

Requirements

  • Deep Understanding of Web Standards: Expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and browser rendering optimization.
  • Framework Expertise: Proven experience developing and operating large-scale web applications using component-oriented frameworks like React or Next.js.
  • Interface Design: Experience designing efficient frontend-backend interfaces using REST APIs or GraphQL.
  • TypeScript Mastery: Ability to build and maintain highly scalable and maintainable codebases using TypeScript.
  • Basic business level English (equivalent to TOEIC 700 or above)

Nice to haves

While not specifically required, tell us if you have any of the following.

  • Experience in development using GraphQL
  • Testing experience using Jest
  • Experience in UI/UX design
  • Knowledge of Web Accessibility and Web Performance optimization.
  • Experience in setting up frontend development environments using tools like webpack
  • Practical experience in Agile development, such as Scrum
  • Experience contributing to OSS
  • Experience in AI development and/or experience in using AI tools to improve development processes.
    • Money Forward recently announced our AI Strategy roadmap which focuses on improving AI-driven operational efficiencies, as well as integrating AI agents into our products to deliver better value to our users.
  • Japanese proficiency is not required but a willingness to learn is preferred.
    • English is primarily used in our development environment. However, there are a few situations and tasks where communicating in Japanese is necessary. We would like to encourage individuals who are currently learning Japanese or have a strong desire to learn to join our team.

Compensation

¥6,900,000 ~ ¥15,000,000 annually.
