You will also serve as a central point of support for critical People Operations and administrative tasks for our growing APAC teams, working closely with our existing regional HR administration.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented professional looking to deepen their recruiting expertise across diverse international markets while expanding their skill set into broader People initiatives at a fast-growing fintech company with a fantastic mission.

Responsibilities

  • Talent Acquisition (Approx. 70-80% Focus)
    • Full-Cycle APAC Recruitment: Own and manage the entire recruitment lifecycle for a variety of critical roles (technical and non-technical) across the APAC region, with a primary focus on markets including Japan, Singapore, India, Indonesia, and Vietnam, among others.
    • Global Talent Sourcing: Proactively identify, engage, and attract top-tier talent using various channels (ATS, LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, networking), ensuring we meet our hiring goals across diverse cultures and talent pools.
    • Market Expertise: Develop and leverage a strong understanding of local labor markets, regulatory environments, and talent trends specific to key APAC regions to inform sourcing strategies and offer negotiations.
    • Stakeholder Partnership: Build strong, trust-based relationships with Hiring Managers across various business units and time zones, acting as a strategic advisor throughout the hiring process.
    • Candidate Experience: Ensure an exceptional, professional candidate journey for every applicant that reflects Alpaca’s core values.
  • People Operations & APAC Support (Approx. 20-30% Focus)
    • HR Support: Serve as a key resource for APAC employees on HR inquiries, policies, and procedures.
    • Local Compliance & Data: Support employee data management and compliance checks for our Japan and broader APAC teams, including Singapore and India, ensuring adherence to local employment laws and regulations. Collaborate closely with local employment legal counsels across Japan and the wider APAC region, and manage and coordinate necessary compliance checks, internal/external inquiries, and required regulatory measures. This may include drafting and reviewing local HR policies, handbooks, and procedures to ensure compliance with local employment laws.
    • Partnership & Administration: Work closely with the existing APAC People/HR administrative team to support day-to-day HR administrative tasks and ensure seamless regional operations.
    • New Hire Orientation Leadership: Lead local onboarding sessions and new hire orientations for employees in the APAC region, ensuring new team members are effectively integrated and informed about company policies and culture.
    • Onboarding & Offboarding Coordination: Coordinate and execute remaining key People/HR tasks for new hires and departures across the APAC region.
    • Global People Initiatives: Support the global People team on various projects, including talent development, performance management, engagement surveys, and process improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years of hands-on, full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably within the technology, fintech, or regulated industry sectors.
  • APAC Recruiting Focus: Proven experience successfully recruiting for talent within one or more major APAC markets (e.g., Japan, Singapore, India, etc.).
  • Language Proficiency: Bilingual fluency in Japanese and English (written and verbal) is essential for this Japan-based role, supporting both local and international communication with high professional proficiency.
  • Adaptability & Ownership: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, global environment and take full ownership of assigned requisitions and strategic People projects.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills suitable for interacting with global candidates and hiring managers.
  • Tool Proficiency: Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and professional sourcing tools (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter).
