We are seeking a bilingual Product Manager to lead the development and localization of Alpaca’s Japan platform. This role will serve as the voice of the Japanese customer, bridging local market needs with global product strategy. You’ll collaborate closely with teams in both the U.S. and Japan to define and deliver a product roadmap that drives adoption, compliance, and customer success. Ideal candidates bring strong product intuition, experience with platforms or APIs, and a solid understanding of Japan’s brokerage or trading landscape. This is a high-impact role requiring cross-functional leadership, client engagement, and a deep commitment to delivering regulatory-compliant, market-fit solutions.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the voice of the Japanese customer — deeply understand and articulate local needs, pain points, and market opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in the US and Japan to define and execute on the product roadmap for Alpaca’s Japan platform.
- Translate product concepts into clear, detailed product specifications and work closely with engineering to drive execution.
- Partner with the Japan BD entity to support client discovery, pre-sales technical discussions, and ongoing product feedback loops.
- Own metrics related to platform adoption and usage in Japan and drive initiatives to improve client success and engagement.
- Ensure products are developed in compliance with local regulations and market practices in Japan.
Requirements
- 3+ years of product management or related experience in a technology or financial services environment.
- Strong product intuition and experience building platforms or APIs.
- Business-level fluency in Japanese and English , both written and verbal.
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- Familiarity with brokerage, trading, or capital markets in Japan is highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
