About the position

This is an Android Developer position for the app “SpeakBuddy”

Tech stack

  • Language: Kotlin
  • IDE: Android Studio
  • Architecture: App Architecture (MVVM), Clean Architecture, Modularization
  • DI: Hilt
  • Kotlin: Flow, Coroutine, Serialization
  • Design: In-house design on Compose Material3 (Moving from Material2)
  • Other Tools: GitHub Actions, Firebase Crashlytics, Jira / Confluence, Slack, Figma, AWS

Responsibilities

  • Design (architecture), develop, test, and deliver SpeakBuddy app
  • Support the members inside and outside Android team
  • Work with design, backend, iOS, growth & other teams
  • Check, discuss, and install new & useful libraries / technologies
  • Find and fix bugs from analytics tools or/and testing

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Android & Kotlin development, or equivalent skills
  • Experience or understandings of App Architecture, MVVM, and unit testings
  • Experience troubleshooting complex applications and data structure
  • Knowledge and understanding about testing
  • Motivation to learn Japanese (current Japanese skill is not required)

Nice to haves

While not specifically required, tell us if you have any of the following.

  • Experience developing a in-house product or having equivalent ownership mindset
  • Experience releasing an app on Google Play Console
  • Experience of the latest Android development (Jetpack Compose, Kotlinx, etc)
  • Knowledge and experience of a feature / app / system with voice recognition
  • Knowledge and experience of UI testing
  • Strong knowledge of Material Design (Material 3, especially)
  • Japanese ability

Compensation

5.5 to 10 million JPY annually.
