We are in search of an entrepreneurial CTO to build and lead our startup which is building a B2B Marketplace that empowers local Japanese craftsmen to expand their reach and access global markets through an innovative, scalable, and integrated platform. As the CTO of this exciting venture, you will play a central role in the establishment and growth of our business. Collaborating closely with our customers, to build not just a product that our users will love but that will enable them to scale like never before.
Responsibilities
- Translate user feedback into tangible, responsive changes in the product. You are obsessed with your customers and have a keen understanding of what they want. You are able to deconstruct their feedback into product iterations, moving ever closer to the product users need.
- Understand deeply the requisite fidelity of a product at each stage of its development. You are keenly attuned to the importance of gathering user feedback en masse in a product’s early stages, and able to continually iterate and ship MVP versions to gather critical user data.
- Design the technical architecture of the product. You can build a product from scratch and own it through every phase of development and feedback. You know how to make it work well and look good.
- Coordinate product development with business. You have a deep understanding of how the product interacts with business goals, and are able to create a long-term vision and roadmap that marries the two.
- Manage interdisciplinary teams to execute well. You understand the complexities of how front-end design interacts with back-end development, and can effectively manage the relationship between teams of designers and developers.
Requirements
- Held a key technical role in an early stage startup, such as a product manager, full stack developer, technical lead, or founder
- Built and led high-performing engineering team(s) with a strong, collaborative team culture
- Built a product and grew it to scale, guiding its strategy along the way
- Decisive and agile; you have strong ideas, but you’re not too proud to change the product based on evidence and feedback
- Current resident of Japan (or already have plans to relocate to Japan on your own)
