About the position

We are looking for an analytical, results-driven Middle-Level Infrastructure Engineer to join our Scrum team to work on a fast-paced SaaS product that analyzes individual user behavior.

We are 15+ talented IT Engineers from 10 different countries, who are responsible for our flagship product USERGRAM. We are organized as scrum teams with self-reliant and cross-functional features. We aim to use the latest technologies and approaches, and find simple solutions for complex problems.

Our client base is increasing every year, and our data volume is growing every month. We need to keep maintaining the performance while improving and adding new functionalities. Also, as we have aggressive business goals, we are looking for more great minds to join hands with us to grow together.

Challenges that we face:

  • Constantly think, improve the value of our product to expand the UX analytics market embracing new technologies.
  • Large offline data import processes, with latency constraints.
  • Near real-time processing of large datasets.
  • Data analytics of even greater volumes of data.
  • Processing bulk data through Machine Learning algorithms for clustering, and predictions.
  • Processing hundreds of millions of user sessions annually, imposes a significant challenge with respect to the design of its data structures, architecture, and domain logic.

Responsibilities

  • Design, provision, and maintain AWS resources using Terraform.
  • Continuously improve EKS (Kubernetes) Clusters by performing regular upgrades, enhancing the process of deploying and maintaining workloads in EKS clusters.
  • Identify potential problems of infrastructure, propose possible solutions, and resolve problems with a plan.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing.
  • Identify and address security risks, vulnerabilities, and gaps in the infrastructure.
  • Use your experience to make our infrastructure more reliable, scalable and secure.
  • Analyze the industry developments, trends, and formulate more efficient processes.
  • Keep our technology stack up to date.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with designing, implementing and maintaining scalable infrastructure in AWS using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
  • Experience with key AWS services such as S3, Glue, EKS, ECS, and Lambda.
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience operating Kubernetes in production environments.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and workflows, particularly GitHub Actions and Argo CD.
  • Expertise in applying DevOps best practices for secure and automated infrastructure and software delivery.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments (Scrum-based).
  • Willingness and ability to learn and adopt new technologies proactively.
  • Intermediate-level English skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Nice to haves

While not specifically required, tell us if you have any of the following.

  • AWS or Kubernetes certificates.
  • Hands-on experience administering large-scale systems such as Apache Kafka, Apache Cassandra, and MySQL.
  • Proven ability to build and optimize data processing architectures using AWS services (e.g., Glue, EMR, Athena, Lambda), GCP (e.g., Firebase, Firestore, BigQuery) or Azure (AI Foundry).
  • Experience setting up and operating highly available monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform cloud and infrastructure cost optimization.
  • Expertise in security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and SIEM solutions.
  • Strong understanding of security best practices, frameworks, and compliance standards (e.g., CIS Benchmarks, NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
  • Hands-on experience in AI-related tools and integrating it into infrastructure and security operations (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, Codex).
  • Proficiency in Linux and Unix system administration.
  • Programming experience in Python or Java or other JVM Languages.
  • Japanese language skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Compensation

¥6,000,000 ~ ¥8,000,000 annually.
