About the position

As a Data Engineer, you design and optimize data processing algorithms on a talented, cross-functional team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and receive training to become proficient in Databricks.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and optimize data processing systems using Python or Java.
  • Develop, maintain, and extend scalable data pipelines from diverse sources.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, bringing innovative ideas to life.
  • Prepare data for operational and analytical purposes.
  • Solve complex challenges independently and in agile teams.
  • Communicate in English with your team and in Japanese with customers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience of software development (Python, SQL or similar language).
  • 5+ years experience of data engineering, ETL processes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • 2+ years experience of big data technologies like Spark, Flink, or Hive.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals and experience with distributed systems.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Japanese.

Nice to haves

While not specifically required, tell us if you have any of the following.

  • Experience with Databricks.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization tools.

Compensation

¥6,000,000 ~ ¥20,000,000 annually.

    Technical Interview

    This interview has a purely technical focus, testing the experience and skill of the applicant’s technology-stack.
