About the position

PayPay is looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to work on our Cloud Based payment system infrastructure to deliver the best payment experience for our growing customers base.

Team Missions

  • Design and implement sustainable cloud and platform services
  • Enable Self-service model and autonomy in Product Divisions
  • Ensure fast, robust and secure cloud and platform service delivery
  • Devise scalable and efficient cloud and platform service operations

Tech Stack

  • AWS: IAM, VPC, EC2, Lambda, Cloudfront, S3, CloudWatch, WAF, AWS SSO, Athena, SQS, Global Accelerator, Cognito, KMS, Secrets Manager, RDS, DynamoDB, ECS, EKS, ECR, Elasticsearch, MSK, Elasticache and other data stores
  • GCP: VPC, CloudNAT, Storage, Cloud Armor, Load Balancer, GKE, BigQuery, Storage & Google Analytics
  • Terraform, Jenkins, Github Actions, Atlantis, NewRelic, Prometheous, Grafana, ArgoCD

Responsibilities

  • Architect and build a robust, scalable and stable infrastructure
  • Architect and build Infrastructure that is easily maintainable during patching and upgrades without downtime
  • Architect and build Infrastructure with AWS/GCP regional level failure tolerance
  • Work together with our Security Engineers to provision a secure Infrastructure
  • Automations for AWS or GCP Deployments to ensure fast delivery of Cloud Services to our developers
  • Provide through Automations means for developers to easily deploy resources on AWS and GCP

Requirements

  • More than 5 years of technical experience in Multicloud - AWS & GCP based Infrastructure solution design and build
  • Has maintained over 200 servers in a production, customer facing cloud environment
  • Ability to demonstrate high degree of ownership in a Production environment
  • Experience in production level Infrastructure change management and releases for High traffic & business-critical systems
  • Experience in Disaster recovery for cloud systems and improvements for RTO and RPO
  • Good understanding of Cloud security best practices and payment industry compliance standards
  • Experience in production incident management and cross team collaboration
  • PayPay DevOps emphasizes automation. Demonstrated skill with the following are required:
    • Python
    • Shell Scripting
    • Go/Rust
  • Extensive technical hands-on experience of Computing, Storage and Analytical Services on Cloud(AWS) (Nice to have GCP Skills in similar areas)
  • Experience with IAC tools in AWS such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, cloudrun
  • Experience with Linux Internals and System Administration
  • Experience with Cloud Services Monitoring, Detection and Response
  • Experience in Cloud Services Performance Tuning, cost controls and management
  • Experience in Cloud Infrastructure Service patching and upgrades

Nice to haves

While not specifically required, tell us if you have any of the following.

  • Bachelor’s degree and above in a technology related field
  • Experience with other cloud service providers (e.g GCP)
  • Experience using and contributing to Open Source tools
  • Published papers / blogs / articles - Experience in managing IT compliance and security risk
  • JLPT Level 3 or above

Compensation

8 to 14 million JPY annually.
