About the position

You will be joining WTP (WOVN Translation Platform), the team in charge of the interface between our core product and third-party machine translation providers. Responsibilities include pre and post-processing texts for translation, implementing and maintaining translation-related features, and ensuring MT service quality and reliability. Members are expected to be full stack: mostly backend with Ruby on Rails but also some frontend with JavaScript and Vue.js. Understanding of areas like CAT tools, linguistics, NLP, data analysis, and information retrieval is also required.

We are looking for people who are flexible and highly skilled, with an interest in languages and other cultures.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience with web frameworks such as Ruby on Rails or similar
  • Understanding/interest in machine learning, NLP, linguistics, information retrieval, internationalization, or localization
  • Experience with noSQL databases and/or relational database architecture
  • Strong sense of project ownership and responsibility
  • Familiar with cloud technologies such as AWS and development/deployment using cloud infrastructure
  • Interest in languages/internationalization
  • English communication skills

Nice to haves

  • Excellent analytical and creative approaches to problem solving
  • Experience with large systems development
  • Experience with unit and end-to-end testing
