About the position

As a Senior UX Designer at MODE, you will be part of our Product Management team, taking on the responsibility to make our product, BizStack, the best IoT x AI product globally. You will work closely with the Business Team (Business Development and Sales) to understand customer challenges, conceptualize the end-to-end customer experience using BizStack, as well as with the development team to explain the expected user experience and understand technical limitations to bring these ideas to life.

Given that BizStack is an IoT platform, it is imperative to propose solutions tailored to various customer segments. You will develop features that support these solutions as a unified platform. This role involves complex challenges unlike those encountered in single-issue products, offering a high degree of difficulty but also a rewarding and engaging experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead highly complex projects, ensuring simplicity, completeness, usability, and quality
  • Collaborate with engineering and business team members to define customer and business problems to be solved
  • Influence the team's roadmap and objectives with user-centric input, ensuring they are feasible, measurable, and impactful
  • Demonstrate and articulate a strong understanding of information architecture and complex user flows
  • Take a comprehensive approach to product design, considering user experience and various states (errors, successes, dead-ends), and identifying connections between different products, features, and platforms
  • Demonstrate and articulate understanding of layout, typography and visual hierarchy
  • Run research studies and experiments, analyze the findings, and validate potential product change

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product design or user experience design including B2B applications
  • Experience with highly technical, complex and critical projects, with ability to handle ambiguity
  • Experience working on deeply technical applications and feel comfortable balancing usability with complex settings and functionality
  • Able to translate user research into beautiful and intuitive user interfaces for web-based applications
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Business level Japanese skills

Nice to haves

While not specifically required, tell us if you have any of the following.

  • Complete end to end design experience where you have owned the product and designed UI and UX
  • Experience of working in multilingual & bicultural environment
  • Experience in the IoT and/or AI industry

Compensation

8 to 12 million JPY annually.
