They are currently looking for English speaking fullstack web developers, with experience in at least one common server side web application framework - preferably Ruby on Rails or Phoenix. While their main business is online retail using Shopify, they are also working on several other apps unrelated to their webshop.
For this position, if you’re an exceptional match, they’re willing to consider you even if you aren’t based in Japan yet.

Responsibilities
- Server, Database and Software Housekeeping
- Offer general guidance and code reviews for their junior developers
- Develop and maintain API backends in Ruby on Rails / Phoenix and React frontend apps
- Manage their Shopify-Webshop and apps
- Research and pitch new technologies and applications to improve their existing system
- The inevitable bug hunt and fix
- Contribute to keeping the office clean and organized

Required Skills
- Fluent English ability
- Proficiency in Ruby or Elixir
- Familiarity with TDD, object oriented or functional programming, and database design
- Good HTML, CSS, Javascript knowledge
- Be well organized and focused
- Ability to take responsibility and solve problems
- Know how to balance your urge to refactor and respect for legacy code
Desirable Skills
- Experience in React
- Passion for UI/UX design
- Ability to recognize patterns and utilize them in your own ideas
